We know about cars BUT not enough awareness about the massive damaging effects of the consumption of Meat on the planet!

"The 400-page report by the Food and Agricultural Organisation, entitled Livestock's Long Shadow, also surveys the damage done by sheep, chickens, pigs and goats. But in almost every case, the world's 1.5 billion cattle are most to blame. Livestock are responsible for 18 per cent of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming, more than cars, planes and all other forms of transport put together."www.independent.co.uk/environment/climate-change/

Do you know that Cow crops for consumption & especially as the world has become richer (questionable at present but no doubt richer) In places like China the eat ting of meat is regarded as an increase in social status & thus creating even more need for breeding & rearing meat. Before becoming meat carcases these animals live, graze & fart yes let off GAS this gas as high in C02 & accounts for more damage to the environment than all the cars polluting the environment globally!!!!!

I choose not to eat meat
Benefits
I do not smell of rotten meat (yes there is a smell of meat eating people)
MC Donald's actually smells like an abattoir to me no joke
My bowels do not harbour years of built up toxins & rancid meat
I am less likely to suffer bowl cancers
I do not consume dead food which does not in any way vibrate with the frequency that every body cell innately vibrates at!
I do not suffer from undigested meat
My skin is clear & does not look red from eating meat which is highly acidic in the body
I have energy before & after I eat I do not need to lie down from stuffing myself
My weight stays balanced
I do not get bloated or suffer premenstrual tension
I eat delicious living live food that vibrates in Harmony with my being allowing me to feel satisfied without desiring to ever overeat.

Tell me how does eating Meat benefit your everyday life? Bar, you may argue that it tastes good & you just need to eat meat.... Eatting a sugar loaded dairy digestion aid is BS there is so small amount of healthy bacteria contained in a container, if even any is alive??? in a pot of over advertised Yogurt, it is not going to work!

You can only to fix yourself by taking contol of your emotions & your diet, basically what you are putting onto your system via thoughts, believes, experiences & food!

Talking from my own experience, YES! 10 years of IBS & so called ME -Myalgic Encephalopathy what the F%$*! sounds Important enough to beleive!!!..... Or is it CFS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, currently it is estimated that around 250,000 people in Britain alone are affected by this illness. I ask you, are they suffering from ME/CFS in Africa you gotta wonder!!!!????? 'GIVE ME LOVE' or 'GIVE ME PURPOSE' syndrome' more like ....Look at your emotions, its the cause not the effect that will cure you.

The reason I highlight ME/CFS is because it is a currently a popular diagnosis & when I was 20, nobody knew what to call it or what to do, there was no medicine, so I went to alternative practitioners & that's how my real journey began. I am now 35 I spent 10 of those years visiting every kind of Dr, healer, therapist, practitioner, read all the books blah blah.... the truth of the matter is & is so in any healing, that it is one's own responsibility to self heal & until one realizes this at core source level, that only you can decide to be in perfect health or not? Your body is always communicating with you the question is are you listening? Through my Dis-Ease I founded the foundations of my path, I am in Gratitude that I can now help others realize theirs. I am now completely whole, healthy & energised to live life in love in full & I love it!

Back to Raw Living, raw does not necessarily fit into a modern lifestyle, but it brings you to your breath, to earth, growth & a feeling of connectedness by simply standing within nature & that is what is wonderful, it takes you back to basics slows you down to a natural pace, which in itself holds challenges. Personally I live an urban big city environment lifestyle, having always thrived, or been an addict to the non stop, buzzing, energising, all go, multi tasking, Adrenalin junky, self demanding desires.... that is what the vibrancy of the a city feeds, a modern life for me.

But I have recently made a conscious choice to re-introduced a few simple pleasures that I get a great joy from one of which is coffee, a total toxin a contradictory NO NO! Yet for me I associate with one of the moments of pleasure in my day, after finishing my morning practice I love to sit outside with my hot bowl of coffee & watch the dawn break, the smells of a knew untarnished day, the sound's of the thing's that become un-noticed as the day progresses & the feeling of appreciation for my own place on the greatness of this planet. So for me the coffee is not toxic, the coffee is joy.

As for 'Raw food' the most common thing I hear from people is 'Yes but my cooked food is my joy my Bottle of wine is joy' & yes I agree those things can be great joy & how we share them are also pleasurable & yes I still very much en- joy my occasionally simply cooked foods & (note) 'A Glass of wine'

My basic Message in this, that, raw suits me & I know it will suit you, it certainly suits the this 'Potentially Utopian Planet!' But most importantly if there is one thing you get from reading this blog that is, it is all in moderation & in moderation I mean balance. I now know when to stop, because for many years I did not & I wondered why I felt so absolutely awful! & that goes across the Bord into all areas of life. 'How we do one thing, is how we do everything!

Imagine Our Planet in Harmony & Balance?
Change begins within!
Urban Yogini

So about 9 months ago I went Raw, as in I eat RAW mostly uncooked foods.

Why did I go Raw? Because I felt I was not coming from my optimum levels of energy that I was not glowing i looked a little dull which is easy in the English climate, but no excuse & I was seeing the developing eye lines, crows feet, laughter creases looking back at me & although I do not believe in worrying about age because we are as young as we feel, I thought I really do not think these need to be hear, at least not yet & I had deep knowing of what I had to follow through on & that was by purifying my diet & eating food that vibrated at a higher frequency than dead foods would probably help me to vibrate at the level I like to vibrate at to put the Z back into my Zest for living!

I took a two month break in the summer it was good to take the break to really see the difference in my body its effects, my energy & especially the subtle clarity that being raw allows. I returned to eating Raw over a month ago.

Yes it takes a fair amount of effort & planning for Raw eating to work effectively so that you always have available & fast food & do not feel hungry & you will want to have replacements for other old food stuff habits to re educate your beliefs around what you want to eat & when.

As for your social life & socialising.... yes initially you are the pain in the butt to your friend's & family, but they will adjust .... you may even inspire them to eat more living food cause you will be looking & acting on top form from every aspect!

I found Raw brings a deeper more simple awareness, & appreciation, striping away at emotional toxins & aids to release the negative, to put it bluntly years of shit build up, in the system causing emotional distresses & eventually some kind of dis-ease ...

How to eat Raw? Follow my blog subscribe for daily & weekly updates
Questions post me a question & I will be happy to answer

Imagine you in Harmony & Balance?
Urban Yogini

Vision

"Create the highest, grandest, vision possible for your life because you become what you believe".
Oprah Winfrey

Know your Vision.
Urban Yogini
x

Why do you want an Alkaline body?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_CZtxM5QgVU8/SPlQj5-G6UI/AAAAAAAAADQ/E7rfKxB7Qb0/s200/images-6.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5258322617718729026" />
Alkalinity is health, longevity and quality of life. Acidity, in simple terms, means sickness and death.

Your body is a fine acid balance
What is pH?
The pH or "potential of hydrogen" is a measure of the relative acidity or alkalinity of a solution. Simply put, the term pH is a symbol for the amount of acidity or alkalinity of a solution. A pH of 7.0 is a perfectly neutral pH; from 0 to 7 indicates acidity; and from 7 to 14 indicates alkalinity.

Another way to think of it is that fluids become more acidic the farther below 7 they become (like stomach acid at the approximate pH of 2.0) and more alkaline the farther above 7 they become. And just for clarity, here are some pH values for various items before they enter the body:
• Orange juice is at 3.0
• Tomato juice is at 4.0
• Milk is at 6.8
• Neutral is 7.0
• Baking soda is at 9.0
• Milk of magnesia is at 10.7
• Household bleach is at 12.5

If your pH balance is too acidic, your body is working hard to neutralize acid and bring you into balance. To do that, it needs certain key minerals that are known to neutralize acid. Sadly, most of us get far too few of these essential minerals -- and so your body has no choice but to "borrow" them from organs and tissues where they're needed.

Essential minerals are stolen away from your heart... your brain... your bones and joints... your muscles and skin... and your lungs, liver and every other organ in your body. And as they begin starving for the minerals they need to function properly, they begin to weaken, function less effectively, and fail. Old age or the aging process another example a knew born baby is a perfect alkaline balance, when we die, we rapidly turn to acid waste.

People with chronic symptoms of arthritis, diabetes, emphysema, arteriosclerosis or cancer, their tissues and metabolism are running acidic. Tissue acidity has a long list of harmful effects upon the body if not neutralized or eliminated. For example, the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients decreases significantly in acid conditions. Additionally, in acidic conditions, the enzymatic processes that control the repair mechanisms for damaged DNA and other critical structures become weakened, the liver cannot detoxify heavy metals from the body, and cancer cells proliferate wildly. And acid tissue pH causes fatigue that leads to depression and stress.

To work out your acidity you can test with pH strips or litmus paper which you can purchase at most pharmacies.
to test your own saliva & or first morning urine.

So what foods cause acid body's? Your Diet: Is the Difference Between Health and Disease
If you're like most people who regularly eat animal protein, fried foods, processed foods, refined sugars, pasteurized dairy products or other acid producing foods, then most likely you're acidic.

You are not the same person that you were last year. The body replaces the lining of the stomach about every five days, the skin in about a month, the skeleton about every three months, the liver about every six weeks and the red blood cells circulate for about 120 days before being replaced by new cells.

The new body that you are building today is predominantly affected by the food you eat. And if you eat predominantly acidic-forming foods, the long-term acidic environment at the cellular level that is created will have a real and damaging effect.
If cells cannot function properly, your body cannot function properly. On the other hand, a healthy alkaline diet creates an environment that is conducive to cellular health.

Leading scientists agree -- high acidity is the ONE cause behind all your worst health nightmares... so be sure to check your pH levels, get your body in balance with nutritious whole foods, and be prepared for a wonderful flood of healing that can protect your health well into your 70s... 80s... and 90s!

This information has been paraphrased from Michael Cutler, M.D. is a Board-Certified family physician with more than 17 years of clinical experience.

Be The Change week 02

"Be the change you want to see in the world"
- Mahatma Gandhi.

My favorite quote, every time I read it, or think of these wise words from that special man Mahatma Jee, the more weight they hold. I make the changes that I know at core truth I need to make, that is when I 'Grow & Know'. Dr Ann Wigmore was a pioneer in Raw Food in the Usa & Jim C quotes her & promotes her clearly great work!

Thank you Jim Carrey

"A raw food diet makes the body more alkaline. Being alkaline makes us more right-brained. Being more right-brained makes us more spiritual. After that, it's simply a matter of finding a balance between the right brain and the left."

"When I find myself wandering from the raw path I've noticed that my spiritual life wavers, too.

"I'm raw when possible, organic when practical and I pray over the rest."

Worry, stress & fear make the body more acidic;
RawDoctors.com.

The "secret" of Dr. Ann's Wigmores program was that she taught about the raw living foods lifestyle she saw it as a way to bring enlightenment to the people. Sharing her lifestyle message with the world was her Life Mission.
She taught that the "living" component in fresh-harvested foods was extremely important - what science now calls the biophotonic energy of the food.

The standard American/ European diet (SAD) dilutes our ability to digest food. There is also medical evidence that colonics and enemas are an quick, efficient way to remove accumulated toxins from the body, and speed the body on it's healing journey.

Lightly fermented foods, easily made at home, also have an important place in her program, as do dehydrated foods.

She taught the importance of proper daily exercise, and the importance of turning off the TV.
She taught that locally grown is healthier than imported food, and better for the environment.

She taught that how we combine our foods - what foods we eat together - are important to digestion and nutrition, too.

Its a "lifestyle" and not a "diet."

For more information on living Raw please go to the sites of
Jim Carrey chidiet@gmail.com
RawDoctors.com.

1 Week Raw & Loving it!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_CZtxM5QgVU8/SPNHgnbjiLI/AAAAAAAAAC4/yS1qF6tPsNI/s200/Whole+Tomatoe.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5256623815737444530" />

'He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.' Albert Einstein
Two months of not being Raw, little did I know I would to want it back..... does that go for all areas of a human life mmm...?
As I have now returned to this 'Raw lifestyle' I have come to realize that to give the Raw experience a rest for the period of two months which I did & to test my food interests & observe while desiring the addictions that how allot of the tastes were good in my mind but the truth be told allot of foods were very non-eventful tastes kind of dead textures & waiting for a satisfaction..... like Pizza which I love, well it was more the whole idea of Pizza in that social sharing pizza eating way that was great .... not so good on the effect on my body not so much a reaction but the way I felt heavy bloated & dull...

So I had a two month experiment & got a good lesson in appreciation for the subtleties once again.

Anyhow one week Raw & I feel an all over soft, tingly, good, goodness, calm, humble & deep gratitude, that I have to say I want to express all the time for this beautiful life, & i do. I highly recommend gratitude it nurtures a supreme satisfaction to be in touch with the gentler pace of life even in an urban lifestyle & for the beautiful subtleties of life, so precious, I can appreciate how elderly people can just be & simply sit watching the days pass by.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://uempoweruraw.blogspot.com/2008/10/1-week-rawing-it.html' title='1 Week Raw & I am feeling good about making a clean break from dead food & returning to a Raw lifestyle. I call it lifestyle because its not just about food, it pulls in the way I live on an everyday level bringing wholeness into a whole circle if you get my drift.

I also want to add that as I spent 6 months previous to falling off the wagon two months ago (which physically feels longer) it is not hard to jump straight back on & espesially as my kithchen is set up for raw living & cooking, I was basically eatting raw & cooked which as i said was not really working so well as about 80% at least raw.

So what does Raw mean how do I approach Raw & make it work for me?

What do I substitute my old addictions with? & get nourishment & yummyness from? May I add at this point that I value good food & I must admit I missed not being in a position as a raw eating person to have the choice of foods that we clearly have in our abundant world. Which of course may not be the best for our 'presently' abundant world which gives more benefit to Raw i do not eat meat ever but just to remind those of you that do ....just think of all those farting cows mithaning our atmosphere for your steak, burgers & what ever else you do with beef never mind cars just stop eating meat not to mention how long meat takes to pass through your digestive tract as it rots yummy not!!!

Yes you are correct I now live on vegetables, fruit, seeds, nuts & I use rice milk as milk substitute. cause i like it. I also add in to the diet cooked fish about twice a week for the taste & oils. Not supposed to but i got to tell you from the strat I make my own rules around the rules of those set & what works for me i also want to not only give good varied nutrtion to my daughter at mel times but i want to give her an ispred choice, more about that later.

I have spent 20 years cooking the goodness out my vegetarian diet which meant that what I was really eating was dead fibrous matter, which is tasty when seasoned & cooked well.

Now I have made the conscious choice to eat living, nutrient, vitamin & fibrous matter. I once picked up in a chemistry lesson that we are basically made up of protein & carbohydrates & I remember thinking this sounds really flat even dead, however when I think of eating living, live, green sunlight rich photosynthesis foods that vibrate at the frequency of our own organs cells & body's I feel a thrill of excitement pulsate through my being. The problem is not everyone agrees with me & so although I feel great all the time & even look great there is no convincing the average processed addicted cooked food meat eating average person as its so non conventional & yet the most natural obvious way to consume foods for optimum performance.

This taking for granted the body's ability to consume & deal with anything or toxin we may desire & put into it, is interesting & more so that we get angry when the body turns around one day & says you know what I have had enough I am not going to work I am sick what are you going to do about it & the individual responds by feeling let down by there own body & right to be whole healthy & well You got to ask yourself are you treating your body like a temple that houses your soul & weathers all storms?

You do become very creative with simple raw foods & what I did miss when I stopped being Raw was the subtle awareness of my taste & the desire to eat the freshest wholest food living foods when I ate cooked food this desire to eat wholesome food disappeared when I ate rich & yes yummy foods but yummy to the addiction of heavily flavored dead foods.

So this early morning I have not had a coffee as obviously as it was ceremoniously dumped in the trash of yesterday i have made a hot cup of Cocoa a good replacement hot, bitter & like everything has come to pass thankfully into a settled state.
Within the turbulence I have to own up to having fallen off, or stepped away from the 'Raw experience eating lifestyle'. The first thing that happened was Coco & I went to Italy on a summer vacation with another yummy mummy & her kiddies, with all the greatest intentions of remaining 'Raw' .... eating plump ripe red tomatoes fresh basil drizzled with cold pressed olive oil, tomatoes & more tomatoes was nice..... but not as nice as the morning pastries & coffee in the village square. The rest of the day was manageable, but toward the end of the holiday I was dipping into Cocos Pizza, Pasta & after dinner Gellate.... yes it all went to pot ...... & I have since not had the conviction to return to raw eating.....

So why? Raw felt so good & I benefited in many ways for example 'Raw eating' maintained a light & lean, comfortable body that I liked, I felt nimble, energized, & I experienced noticeable things like no plaque on my teeth, my periods were a bright blood red color all through the bleeding, no bloating or so called pre-menstrual syndrome's, my emotions felt clear & I was more aware of detail & appreciative of subtle experience.

Now that I am no longer 'Raw' I feel there is always a slight bloatedness, when I awake in the morning my eyes are puffy & there is a plaque covering teeth my mouth even with oral hygine aareness, I am a little heavier not as toned as I was & my digestion is not as easily released as during a 'Raw diet.'

Looking at that there are far more benefits being Raw so why am I not convinced enough to return?

The red light with the raw is it tends toward a kind of cooked-arex-sick tendency of becoming repealed by cooked food & even people that eat cooked food, it starts to look like people are shoveling in mounds of mush that makes people heavy gassy & doped out & even smell from a cellular level. To defend raw I do think its true, we are as a society addicted to too much food & our body can not cope, we there-fore create dis-ease & the body does not function optimally, or at least as well as it can on less food.

Eating Raw we are more energetic light & sensitive to our environment appreciative to the subtleties of life.

Well each day starts with good intentions, especially a Monday & as today is a Monday I am especially in a frustrated place so I have come back to this blog to iron out the differences within myself, to share the cross road place I am at & because I know we all to often find ourselves in times of a this nature.

In a world where we do have the choice to eat what we want, when we want & as much as we want, which seems crazy when you think of half the world not even having food to eat, but that gets into a whole other area I am not going there today.

Wright now I want to return to a harmonious path of eating good whole food & because at the moment I am wavering between Raw or not Raw & thus creating confusion & conflict within myself, a kind of panic of I want to try everything before I return to hard core Raw. Yes! I agree a totally non-productive space & not a positive state to get the kind of results I actually want & a very out of balance way of being. Balance being my mantra for living a life calm & content.

A good place to start is, What do I actually want?
Which can start with a what do I not want?

I do not want to start another week on a good foot & end it by defying all. So as a honest human experiment I know the problem lies in the in-balance of such an extreme way of eating, I say extreme because it is a committed diet that one has to be very dedicated to making it happen & keeping it happening carrying food when out & about, shopping in certain shops, a kind of 'being special' kind of existence, I guess (another area for another day).....The thing is people every where all over the world eat cooked food & where ever one goes food is cooked & so eating at home is best which is restricting if one likes to travel & cuts out allot of socializing. Looking for other ways to go out celebrate & meet people, which I have to say can be a little dull & alienating but is do-able & one becomes very inventive.

Having now re-tasted the foods I missed & that the Raw food inhibited me from eating I can say that some foods taste great & allot taste average. Some foods I now know to totally & happily avoid & some foods I simply really like / enjoy in my life & I am OK with, like my one cup of coffee in the morning completely toxic but completely appreciated & enjoyed.

I have noticed my digestion is effected by some cooked foods, what one would normally consider a very healthy food may not be so great on the digestive system of an individual & I know from the experience of IBS for 10 years that one becomes very accustomed to feeling uncomfortable & believing the symptoms to be normal bodily functioned for example to have a bloated digestive system/tummy/wind. It is simply a matter of getting over the association that something is supposed to be very good for you may not be working for your body as well as the marketing celebrations says or your grandmother told you & that is a matter of personal experimentation.

I want to maintain an 80% Raw 20% cooked which allows the weekends & socializing celebrations, my cup of coffee for now, & balance. I think it is important to note that there is allot of other stuff going on for me in my life internally wright now a transition of a kind & that I am filling up a fear feeling with food/s. So what action can I take & apply? Obviously I deal with the underlying emotions.
